Sept 25th: "History of Torridge Vale Dairy". Antony Jeffries. A history of the dairy from its beginnings in the 1870s to the present day demolition.
Oct 23rd: "Photos in wartime". Marion Pollinger. The story of Marion’s grandfather as a POW in a German camp for 4 years, with photos, stories and original recordings of her grandfather telling his story.
Nov 27th: "A walk through time". Denise Holton. Barnstaple from Saxon times to the present day, including photos of buildings and artefacts in Barnstaple from each period.
Dec: No meeting.
Jan 22nd: "Supreme Sacrifice". Trevor Wilson. The lives of the three Short brothers in Atherington and their deaths in WW1.
Feb 26th: "Chanters Bakery". Lisa Chanter. The history of this local bakery based in Bishop’s Nympton and later South Molton, including a display of many artefacts and documents connected to the business.
Mar 26th: "Hill-enclosures of Torridge district". Michael Griffiths-Jones. The Iron Age hill-enclosures of the Torridge district are a largely forgotten and unexplored group of ancient monuments, and unlike other hill-enclosures of the county. Michael talks about his ten year’s study of these sites.
Apr 23rd: "Listed buildings in North Devon". David Carter. David has reported on many North Devon listed buildings, for owners to make Planning Applications for alterations or extensions, during which many interesting stories about the buildings came to light. David talks about his favourites, but with a twist in some of the tales!
